Research Paper Guidelines

Research papers should be

Research Papers that are accepted for publication must submit the final camera ready copy in PDF format by the due date.  Camera ready PDF files should be "distilled" to meet IEEE specifications.  At a minimum, the IEEE advises that basic PDF distiller settings must be changed so PDF files are:

  • optimized;
  • set to Acrobat 4.0 compatibility;
  • all graphics are set to at least 300 dpi resolution;
  • all fonts are embeddable, Postscript fonts;
  • all fonts must be embedded and subset;
  • postscript settings should not override distiller settings;and
  • page size is 612.0 x 792.0 points (8.5" x 11").

The complete IEEE PDF specification document can be found at http://www.ieeeconfpublishing.org/cpir/AuthorKit.asp?

When you submit your paper, please nominate if you prefer to present your paper as an oral presentation or as a poster.   This should be done in the "Comments to Chair" section of the Research Paper submission form.

Poster presentations will often describe a ‘work in progress'. However, posters may also describe finished research outcomes that make a small but incremental contribution to the field of software engineering.

The Research Program Committee will ultimately decide if a paper is best suited for oral or poster presentation, and will notify authors of this at the time that successful papers are accepted.

Regardless of the presentation format, all papers will be a maximum of 10 pages and peer reviewed. Accepted papers in both presentation formats will be included in the Conference Proceedings and  published by the IEEE Conference Publication Service.
